The first golf major of the year tees off at Augusta National this week, as the world’s best compete for the iconic Green Jacket. With Scottie Scheffler looking to defend his 2024 title, I’ve picked 4 players that I believe are strong contenders to win The Masters 2025.

Rory McIlroy – Best Chance Yet?

Now don’t get me wrong, as an Irishman, I want Rory McIlroy to win. Rory McIlroy enters this year’s tournament in arguably his best form in a decade. He’s already won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Players Championship this year, and has multiple top-20 finishes under his belt.

His record at Augusta is solid: 10 cuts made in the last 11 years, with runner-up in 2022 and several top-10s. Still chasing that elusive career Grand Slam, McIlroy looks primed to make a real run this time around. His game is ready, but is he mentally prepared? I’ll be taking that chance on him.
