Celtic are on the verge of another Treble, but Aberdeen will be desperate to end a 35-year Scottish Cup drought when they face the champions at Hampden. The Dons last lifted the trophy back in 1990, beating Celtic on penalties, and they’ll be hoping to deliver overdue silverware for their long-suffering fans.
However, Jimmy Thelin’s side come into the final in worrying form, having lost their last four Premiership games and sliding to a fifth-place finish. One of those defeats was a bruising 5-1 loss to a Celtic reserve side at Pittodrie, highlighting the gulf between the sides. Brendan Rodgers’ men also smashed Aberdeen 6-0 in the League Cup semi-final and finished the league campaign a staggering 39 points ahead. No surprise then that Celtic are overwhelming favourites heading into Saturday.
