Arsenal return to the Emirates on Saturday evening fresh from a historic Champions League performance, as Mikel Arteta’s men prepare to host Brentford in the Premier League. With momentum on their side and the title race still alive, the Gunners will be expected to take care of business.

A 3-0 dismantling of Real Madrid midweek has Arsenal fans dreaming of European glory — and that result has only fuelled belief domestically. Declan Rice stole the show with two superb free-kicks, while Mikel Merino added the third in what was a dominant display. That was Arsenal’s third win from their last four in all competitions, and their third straight victory at the Emirates. Even with rotation expected ahead of the second leg in Madrid, confidence is sky-high.

They’ve slipped to 12th and come into this one winless in their last seven against Arsenal. With a thin squad and limited attacking threat outside of Bryan Mbeumo, it’s hard to see them causing an upset.

Players to Watch
After his heroics against Madrid, Declan Rice is likely to keep set-piece duties, though his minutes could be managed. Mikel Merino, who scored in the reverse fixture and again midweek, is a solid option to net again at 2.80. Bryan Mbeumo remains Brentford’s main attacking outlet and scored against Arsenal in January, he’ll need to be clinical if the Bees are to get anything here.
