Saturday | 14:00 UTC | Goodison Park | Premier League

Manchester City travel to Goodison Park on Saturday with a chance to make their way back into the Top 4 and further enhance their chances of Champions League football for next season. Under David Moyes, Everton have become a tough team to beat, and they will be ready for a challenge.

Everton Toughening Up Under Moyes

I’ve been impressed with how Moyes has shored up this Everton side. Since taking over in January, he’s lost just 2 of 12 league matches. That includes taking points off Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, and a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend shows they’re still digging deep.

Everton have now gone unbeaten at home since early February, and 5 of their last 7 Premier League matches have ended in draws. With 4 of those finishing 1-1, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them frustrate City for long spells.

City Still Vulnerable

Don’t let last weekend’s 5-2 win over Crystal Palace fool you, City still have defensive flaws. They were 2-0 down inside 21 minutes, and were lucky not to concede a third. Yes, Kevin De Bruyne ran the show in the comeback, but their high line was exploited repeatedly.

Pep’s side have kept just 1 clean sheet in their last 7 matches, and that was against a cautious United side playing for a point. I still think City will find a way to score, but a clean sheet looks unlikely.

How the Bookies See It

Man City are favourites here at 1.94, with Everton the outsiders at 3.70. The draw is 3.55. I like the look of Man City to win and Both Teams to Score at 3.60, as it aligns with recent trends.

Head-to-Head: Goals for Both Sides

Man City are unbeaten in this fixture since 2017 and both teams have scored in 3 of the last 5 head-to-heads between these sides. Everton’s last win in this fixture came at Goodison Park in a 4-0 shock victory.

Players to Watch

Iliman Ndiaye is Everton’s top scorer this season with 7 league goals and also takes penalties. He’s 4.50 to score anytime, and in a tight game that could be settled by a set piece, I think he’s excellent value. For City, De Bruyne is 3.00 to assist, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this come in after his recent performances.

Predicted Lineups

Everton: Pickford, O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Doucoure, Gueye, Garner, McNeil, Harrison, Ndiaye
Man City: Ortega, Lewis, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Kovacic, McAtee, Doku, Marmoush
